Holy Cross College of Allied Health Sciences is attached to Holy Cross Hospital Kottiyam, Kollam and is administered by the Society of Sisters of Holy Cross. The main aim of the college is to impart all around formation-professional, Spiritual, moral, and social-based upon Christian principles and values.

            Historical Background: The society of Sisters of Holy Cross was founded in Menzingen, Switzerland in the Year 1884 by Rev. Fr. Theodosius Florentini and Mother Bernarda Hiemgartner to train young girls to be good mothers. Along with academic studies the students were educated in moral and spiritual values which could lead to reform the society from moral and spiritual degradation. In the year 1906 Maharaja, Sree Moolam Thirunal of happy memory wanted some missionary sisters to work in the Travancore state Hospital in order to improve the quality of health care and through Bishop Benziger of Kollam Diocese the Holy Cross sisters were brought to India. From the year 1906 onwards Holy Cross sisters are rendering their selfless services in the Government and mission Hospitals and for the welfare of the last lost and least through various ministries giving hope and life.

            Holy Cross College of Allied Health Sciences: The School of Medical Laboratory Technology was established in 1987as sisters of Holy Cross felt the need of having adequately trained, reliable and sincere laboratory technicians as the laboratory investigations have become an integral part in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient. In this era of Science and Technology and emergence of newer diseases, the laboratory investigations have significant role .The services of skilled, efficient and dedicated technicians are essential for better health care. With this in mind the MLT course was upgraded depending on the needs of the time and in tune with the advances in science and technology and opportunities for employment from time to time.

    9. Serve the suffering fellow being with love, compassion, tenderness, respect and concern
